Waypoint FTP Access and Licensing Server Outage

Issue Summary:

TerraStar NRT service will transfer availability from the “Europe” server to the “North America” server on Thursday, October 15, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. MDT.

Waypoint FTP and licensing servers will experience an outage on Saturday, October 17, 2020 from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. MDT.

Products Affected:

Inertial Explorer, Inertial Explorer Xpress, GrafNav / GrafNet, GrafNav Static, SDK versions 8.50, 8.60, 8.70, 8.80 and 8.90.


On Thursday, October 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. MDT, TerraStar NRT service will be available on the “North America” server. Meanwhile, the “Europe” server will be down until further notice. TerraStar NRT correction files will not be accessible from either server during the outage on Saturday, outlined below.

On Saturday, October 17, 2020, the Waypoint FTP and licensing servers will undergo an outage from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. MDT.

Updates to the lists of public sources for base stations and precise SP3/CLK files, antenna calibrations, error models, datum/grid parameters, and DCB updates provided via FTP will be interrupted during this time. If the latter is not updated regularly, PPP processing could produce degraded results.

During this time, users will be unable to activate or return any software licenses. Users also will not be able to access the customer portal during the outage.


Customers looking to return or activate their license should do so before 7:00 a.m. or after 9:00 a.m. MDT on October 17, 2020. To check license information, go to Help -> About Inertial Explorer -> License Information -> Local Licenses.

Customers looking to update their manufacturer files can do so by downloading them through the NovAtel website at https://novatel.com/support/support-materials/waypoint-downloads. These files should be placed within the “resources" sub-folder of the software’s installation folder.

Users who are subscribed to the TerraStar NRT service can change the default server location via the “Preferences” window. Note that the “North America” server must now be selected.
