Aerospace GNSS applications

Positioning technology for use in space and aerospace applications must be equally robust and reliable.

The aviation industry is a safety-critical application that relies on trustworthy positioning during flight and landing procedures, including automated landings.

The space industry requires antennas and receivers that will survive the acceleration and vibration of launch and withstand the extreme operating temperatures, pressure and radiation in space.

Both can rely on Hexagon for GNSS positioning technology because reliability is baked into our robust designs, ISO 9001:2015 manufacturing and best-in-class support.

Why choose Hexagon

On time and on budget — We understand the time, space and cost constraints of sending technology to space. Partner with us for quick-turnaround COTS solutions that fit the bill.

High-performance positioning solutions for space

Space-bound applications are in a different dimension than Earth-bound operations. Equipment must first survive the stresses of launch and then provide reliable high performance in the harsh environment of space.

Considerations for space positioning technology depend on environmental conditions and component integration. The smaller dimensions of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites create size, weight and power (SWaP) constraints. LEO satellites' high speeds affect the tracking and acquisition of GNSS signals.
