NovAtel Service Bulletin: CORS FTP Server Changing to HTTPS

12 August 2021

Issue Summary:
We have been advised that the NGS/CORS FTP server will be shut down as of August 16th, 2021 and replaced with HTTPS protocol. Any attempt to access the FTP server after that date will fail. All Waypoint products currently do not support HTTPS and will therefore be unable to access the NGS/CORS RINEX data automatically. An update to version 8.90 for all Waypoint products will be provided that will support HTTPS.

Products Affected:
All Waypoint Inertial Explorer, Inertial Explorer Xpress, GrafNav and GrafNav Static products.

Mitigation:
An update to version 8.90 will be available on August 16th, 2021 that will support HTTPS. Customers currently using version 8.90 will be able to download the new version and continue to use the NGS/CORS data automatically.

Customers using versions older than 8.90 and have a valid PCS may upgrade to the latest version to continue to automatically download the NGS/CORS data by contacting customer support at support.novatel@hexagon.com with your activation ID.

Customers not within a valid PCS may contact their sales representative with their activation ID to upgrade to the latest 8.90 version. https://novatel.com/contactus/contact-sales

Alternatively, customers using versions prior to 8.90 may download RINEX CORS data from standard download page https://www.ngs.noaa.gov/UFCORS/ and manually import the data.
